Beer Lab HI

FEASTival EXCLUSIVE: Beer Lab HI will be making a special release, limited run of Goya (Bittermelon) Beer!

FEASTival SPECIAL! Okinawan Soba at Pearlridge location only. Okinawan soba noodles with shoyu pork spareribs and topped with hard boil egg, Okuhara Foods fish cake, pickled ginger, sliced green onions.

Ige’s Halawa

FEASTival LUNCH SPECIAL: Aunty Kay’s Okinawan Sweet Potato Manju and a Big Okinawan FEASTival Sale on 09/16. 

INSTRUCTIONS: 

  • PRE-ORDER for Manju from September 1-September 10 or until we sell out for ALL three of our PICK UP DATES.  

  • Pick up days will be Wed 9/6, Sat 9/9, Wed 9/13.

Hibachi Honolulu

FEASTival SPECIAL: Hibachi Grilled Burger & Fries Combo for $11.50 (normally $13.75). These burgers have a lovely char from the grill and remind me of old school burgers cooked on the hibachi. Seriously good fries, too. Choice of Basic Burger, Teri Burger, Jalapeno Burger, & Blue Cheese Burger.

Hank’s Haute Dogs

FEASTival EXCLUSIVE: Hank is bringing back his wildly popular Spam Andagi Pop! Picture it: Thick slices of Spam are seared on both sides, put on a stick and dipped in Andagi batter and fried. It comes with a honey mustard mayo dipping sauce. 

INSTRUCTIONS: 

  • Hank’s Spam Andagi Pop will be available from September 4th to 10th (closed on 5th). Limit 2 a person.

  • Walk in orders only. NO online or phone orders will be taken for this special. A set amount will be made per day.  

  • Parking at SALT complex parking lots is free for an hour.

Aloha Tofu

FEASTival Special: Jimami Tofu (Okinawan peanut tofu) with sauce. Price $4.50 for 3.5 oz, limit 5 per customer. Discounts on Yushi Dofu (Firm tofu before being pressed. Texture is more custard-like). Price: ½ scoop (½ gallon) for $7 (regular price $8) and ¼ scoop (¼ gallon) for $4 (regular price $4.75). Ohana Soy Sauce is $7.50 (regular price $8.75). No limit for Yushidofu and Ohana Soy Sauce.

Aloha Andagi

FEASTival Special:  Junko Bise and her crew will be popping up in the covered parking lot of Marukai Dillingham serving regular andagi and Okinawan sweet potato andagi.

Okinawan Zenzai (served hot) also available. Okinawan zenzai features barley and kidney beans, which differentiates it from Japanese zenzai.

INSTRUCTIONS: 

  • Pop up on Friday (9/15), Saturday (9/16), and (9/17). From 8 am to 3 pm (or sold out).

Chibi Confectionery

FEASTival SPECIALS: 1) Okinawan Sweet Potato Crunch - An Okinawan take on the fall favorite.  A layer of Okinawan sweet potato on top of a buttery macadamia nut crust. 2) Shikuwasa Glazed Shortbread - Shikuwasa glazed shortbread.  Featuring local shikuwasa from Lokoea Farms, this is a perfect blend of tart and sweet. 3) Miso Dark Chocolate Chip Cookies - White miso mixed into the batter turns this treat into a pillowy soft, sweet, umami bomb.

Olena Cafe

FEASTival EXCLUSIVE: Jackie at Olena Cafe will be offering a healthier option with a FEASTival exclusive cold pressed juice. Details are forthcoming. Note: Olena uses seasonal fruits so juices are subject to change based on availability from farm sources.

Olena is the Hawaiian word for Turmeric. In Okinawa, it is called Ukon. Jackie’s grandmother used to farm ukon in Okinawa and has passed on that family tradition to her granddaughter. 

INSTRUCTIONS: 

  • Juices are made in small batches to keep them as fresh as possible. Call ahead at (808) 941-9342 and pre-order.

ZIGU (Okinawan at Heart)

FEASTival EXCLUSIVE: ZIGU has three Okinawan FEASTival Specials that will run the entire month of September. 

*Signature Dish* Okinawa Style Braised Pork Belly “Rafute” ($21). ZIGU is bringing back this popular special from last year. This comes with an egg and pieces of daikon, simmered in the sauce. 

Stir Fried Noodles with Local Goya made “Champuru” style using Sun Noodle’s Okinawa Soba ($19). Served on a sizzling teppan dish.

Ikura Shooter with Okinawan Mozuku and Hawaiian Ogo ($14). Ikura (Salmon roe) with Mozuku (Okinawan seaweed) and Ogo (Hawaiian seaweed). Tomato juice is added to Sanbaizu vinegar to add sourness and sweetness. Sea urchin can be added as an option (+$6).

Drinks: Okinawa's local favorite Awamori Sanpincha wari at a low price. Enjoy Hawaii’s Kuba Awamori Jasmine tea ($6.50) for FEASTival!

Roy’s Hawaii Kai

FEASTival Exclusive: Roy is connecting with his Okinawan roots with a Miso Soy Braised Pork Shank served with Okinawan Sweet Potato, Roasted Garlic Aloha Tofu Aioli, and Champuru Relish.

Voyage by Chef Amin (Okinawan at Heart)

FEASTival Exclusive: Chef Amin will be frying up his take on Andagi: Persian Baklava Andagi (walnuts, pistachio, almond and cardamom minus the phyllo) and Makrut (Kaffir) Lime Andagi. He is also serving his miso pork belly plate.

INSTRUCTIONS: 

  • Chef Amin’s food truck will be outside of Fisher Hawaii in Kakaako on Pohukaina Street from 11 am to 3 pm on Sept. 9 and 16. Sept 9 is baklava andagi. Sept. 16 is kaffir lime andagi.

  • He will also be at the Kailua Lokahi Market on Sept. 10 and 17, 8 am to 1 pm.

Teruya’s Andagi

FEASTival SPECIAL: Albert from Teruya’s Andagi is offering a special Okinawan Bento (Spam Roll, Okinawan Yakisoba, Shoyu Pork, Bittermelon, Sweet Potato Mochi) for $11 each. Limited quantities. Also available: Andagi, Sweet Potato Mochi, and regular bento.

FEASTival EXCLUSIVE: Shave Ice Guru Aaron Wong is making a Shikuwasa Shave Ice, as well as a Caramel Kokuto (Okinawan black sugar) drizzle.

Shima-Ya

FEASTival SPECIAL: Chef Ryne Shimabukuro will be serving up Braised Rafute Udon with housemade Pickled Goya, green onions, and chili threads in a house made broth. Two-hour braised pork belly in an Okinawan sweet sauce. Udon is hand made and cooked to order. We ask for patience as Ryne makes everything on site and to order.

Must reserve your orders in advance. Reservations can be made via IG direct message starting on Thursday, 09/14.  After 2 pm, Chef Ryne will take walk-in orders. 

INSTRUCTIONS: 

  • Special is ONLY available on Saturday, September 16th (Saturday) at Fishcake in Kakaako. Limited quantities. Must pre-order for 11 am to 2 pm. After 2 pm, Chef Ryne will take walk-in orders.

FEASTival SPECIAL: Chef Jun Sakamoto will be offering a “Vegan Okinawa Taco Rice.” This vegan take on an Okinawan favorite has Kahumana Organic Farm green mix, local tomato, local avocado, Aloha Tofu soboro meat, vegan cheese, vegan mayo sauce, multigrain rice and Okinawan sweet potato chips.

Coco Bloom Kitchen is located in the Kaimuki Shopping Center on the 1st floor.

Ili’ili Cash & Carry (OaH)

FEASTival Special: Ili’ili will be offering an Okinawan Taco Rice Suppli (an Italian snack), a merging of Roman and Okinawan cuisine. Aker is using a risotto rice, Carnaroli, to make the Taco Rice croquette. Breading is a mix of parmesan cheese and panko.

  • Special will run from 09/05 to 09/18.

FEASTival Special: FEASTival Sausage, a Housemade pork sausage (with housemade buns) with an Okonomiyaki topping (housemade Okonomiyaki sauce, kewpie mayo, bonito flakes, aonori, and pickled ginger). Comes with fries.

Mango Street Grill

FEASTival SPECIAL: Save the date! Mango Street will have a special Okinawan Dinner Night on Sunday, September 17th, featuring three special Appetizer options (Agedashi Tofu, Agenasu, Chicken Yakitori Sticks) and one Entrée option (Shoyu Pork) and one Dessert (Mini Andagi with option to add on ice cream).

There will be other food options that night (steak, prime rib, garlic shrimp, and a fish dish). There will be soda, beers, wines, and pre-mixed alcohol drinks.

FEASTival SPECIAL: Umibudo (Okinawan Sea Grapes) are being grown on the island of Hawaii by Big Island Abalone. Available for pick up at their Kapahulu storefront (415 Kapahulu Avenue).

INSTRUCTIONS: 

  • Pre-order is required as it takes 3-4 days to arrive from Kona. Call (808) 941-4120. Pick up at Kapahulu storefront.

  • Availability is limited, so call to check on inventory. Can pre-order NOW.

  • Can also pick up at their Kona store and the KCC Saturday Farmers Market or order online through their website. They can ship from Kona to California. Their umibudo is also available at Nijiya Ala Moana, Don Quijote Kaheka, and Marukai.

FEASTival EXCLUSIVE: Obake will be serving up Rafute Ravioli ($10) - House made ravioli with awamori braised pork belly, shoyu, ginger and miso.

For dinner service only, Takoraisu ($6) - Mauka meats minced venison, taco seasoning, mirin Valentina with house soy, lettuce and tomato.

There will also be a special cocktail, details pending.
